What is Exercise Physiology?

Exercise Physiology is the study of how the body responds to physical activity.

Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists develop personalised exercise programs to help you manage chronic conditions, recover from injuries, and improve overall health.

What can I expect from my first appointment?

The first Exercise Physiology appointment will involve the practitioner gaining a thorough understanding of your experience and concerns. We will then complete a physical examination to confirm a path forward. Depending on your reason to visit, your Exercise Physiologist will provide you with an exercise regime or rehabilitation program tailored to your needs.

When should I see an Exercise Physiologist?

You can see an Exercise Physiologist for various reasons whether you are completely healthy, have chronic injuries or want to train for a specific goal. You do not need a doctor’s referral to see an Exercise Physiologist. If you are unsure about whether to see an Exercise Physiologist, give us a call to speak with a practitioner.

What if I don't have a CDM plan Can I still have bulk-billing

If you do not have a Chronic Disease Management plan you can still access our services but bulk billing will not be available.

We understand that not having a CDM plan can raise concerns about affordability but we are committed to providing competitive pricing to meet your needs.

Our EP’s can work with you to create a personalised treatment plan that fits your budget and health goals.

We believe everyone deserves access to quality Exercise Physiology services and we are here to support you on your journey to better health. Reach out to us for more information on how we can assist you.

Who is eligible for bulk billing?

Clients who have a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan, previously known as the EPC plan, are eligible for bulk billing.

This allows you to access our services without any out-of-pocket expenses.

To obtain a Chronic Disease Management plan, you will need to consult with your General Practitioner.

During your visit with your GP, discuss your health concerns and the need for a tailored exercise program.

Your GP will assess your situation and, if appropriate, create a CDM plan that outlines the services you can access, including Exercise Physiology.

This plan can help you manage chronic conditions effectively and allow you to benefit from bulk billing options for your sessions with us.

A Chronic Disease Management plan is designed for individuals with chronic health conditions who require ongoing care.

This includes those managing diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory conditions, and musculoskeletal issues.

If you have been diagnosed with a chronic illness and need a structured approach to your health management, you may be eligible for a CDM plan.

This plan enables you to access a range of services, including Exercise Physiology, to support your recovery and improve your quality of life.

It’s essential to discuss your health status with your GP to determine your eligibility and the specific services that can benefit you.

Can I claim private health insurance rebates?

Yes, on the spot rebates are available, just check your individual private health insurance. The amount covered will depend on your level of cover.

How can I book an appointment?

Booking an appointment with Tailored Exercise Physiology is easy. Give us a call on 02 9030 4701. We will check that you have a CDM plan and then book your appoinment.
